Whatapp update allows admin to restrict members from sending messages
2017 is a great year for whatsapp , the Facebook owned messenger. whatsapp is improving their features continuously to make user experience more comfortable and easy to use. Continuing the campaign of improvement, the WABetaInfo, has recently confirmed about the new ‘Restricted Groups‘ feature. The feature available on whatsapp update 2.17.430 beta version, ‘Restricted Groups‘ is basically a feature introduced to empower the group admin on whatsapp.
This feature will allow the group admin to restrict all members within the group to send and messages including , text, media, photo or GIF.
The new ‘Restricted Groups‘ option is only available for the group admin. This option will allow admin to restrict all members from sending any message in the group. However, Admin will be able to send and post in the group. In order to post in the group, member will have to choose ‘send to Admin‘ option and the post will be sent to group, once the admin approves it.
For now ‘restrict groups‘ feature will be applicable for 72 hours, means the ‘Restricted Groups‘ will be deactivated automatically after 72 hours and members will be able to send the posts again. Further admin requires to re-activate ‘Restricted Groups‘ in order to restrict members from posting in group once again.
whatsapp group admin will soon have an option to restrict the member from sending any post in group and in addition, admin can prohibit members from making changes to group name and icon as well , whatsapp said in October.
Recently whatsapp rolled out ‘delete for everyone‘ feature to enable the user to recall the sent message.
