On Thursday, in an event at New Delhi , Indian Prime Minister inaugurated the 5th Global conference of Cyberspace. Talking about the future of Digital India he said, Digital India is world’s largest initiative programme to implement the technology for shake of improving service delivery towards citizen. Additionally P.M. Narendra Modi launched the ‘All in one app called ‘Umang‘. The application will be available for download on Android and iOS platform, is an unique app to provide over 100 services of central and state government on single platform.
‘Umang’ is an Unified approach to avail multiple govt. services to the citizen.
“UMANG- Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance “- envisaged to make e-governance.
In order to promote Narendra Modi’s Digital India Program and drive Mobile Governance in India ,the application is developed by MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) and NeGD(National e-Governance Division) together.
SERVICES OF UMANG
The app ‘Umang‘ is designed to provides various Government related services from different Government bodies including Central and States Government. Some major services provided by the are as follows:
- PAN India e-Gov services ranging from central to local government bodies.
- Aadhaar services and Aadhaar related queries
- Bill payment
- Income Tax filling
- Booking LPG Gas
- Utility pill payment
- Information about PF Account(Provident Fund)
etc. are the main highlights of the app ‘Umang‘. Basically ‘Umang’ is all in one Governance application where you can reach to all major services of state and central government.
The application is free to download for all platforms and is enriched with multi channel approaches, means you can avail the services of the app through Featured phone, Smart phones, Table and Desktop as well. The application is provided with dedicated Customer IVR support with 8 AM to 8 PM 7 day a week.
HOW DOES ‘UMANG’ WORK?
To download Umang on Android simple goto Playstore and download the app for free. Or you may give a miss call to 97183 97183 or SMS to get the app download link on your mobile.
After the app is downloaded and installed, user is required to register the app by creating the profile providing basic information like: Phone number, name, age ,sex etc. and it also includes an optional column to upload your photo as profile picture.
User may also link their Aadhaar number to the app and the social media profile.
Once registered, user can avail all the services available, by taping to services section. Additionally you can sort the services by categories and services. However you can reach to the services by simply typing the name of the service you are looking for.
Besides, 150 of central and state government services are available under one platform. user #umang for making payment under various utility bills.
Presently, 45 services including, AICTE, Bharat BillPay, Bharat Gas, Aadhaar card, CBSE, DigiSevak, EPFO, My Pan NPS, Pay Income Tax etc. are linked to Umang app.
